QMT Lite
This cover is a slight varient of another QMT cover (see below) with fewer dashes and a slightly more casual design. It probably dates to the construction of the Queens Midtown Tunnel from 1936 to 1940.
DESIGN:
The single strand basket weave pattern here has a homemade quality here which is continued in the Increasing size of the lettering from left to right.
UTILITY:
The single strand basket weave pattern has often been used by communications companies, but there are no rules in Lidville.

This example is in Long Island City on Jackson Ave near Vernon Blvd.
