OK I know it's not in NYC.
This is the 1964 edition of the Campbell Foundry Co of Harrison NJ stalwart. And although it was spotted some 90 miles or more from the center of the sewer cover universe (somewhere near City Hall, I believe) it is the only example I have seen with the date 1964, and also the last cover of this series with the Campbell Foundry mark.
DESIGN:
Today, this design reminds me of pictures looking down at the manned space capusules recovered from the ocean.

The exact location of this cover was not recorded, but was in downtown Hudson NY, probably on Warren St. near that antique store. (PS there is also an 1963 cover on Warren St.)
