Worn with 4 LEAF CLOVER

Although the inscription on this cover has been been worn away, the design (and perhaps the actual cover) are the same as the one pictured by Diana Stewart in "Designs Underfoot" (page 80) from before 2003. WILLIAM TAYLOR ADAMS ST. BROOKLYN L.I. read the text in the ring around the center 4-leaf blossom.
DESIGN:
The elaborate pattern of scored lines is particularly striking in this cover, with few other examples surviving to this day.
